The Housing Shortage Continues

In a one month new listings have dropped from 4,236 to 3,885. However, we see a few more homes for sale now than the previous year. Low interest rates continue to replenish the buyer's pool while current homeowners are reluctant to leave their homes. Some of this is due to the pandemic, and some to an aging population happy with where they're at. Many have focused on home improvement projects rather than try and find a replacement home better suited to their needs.

My recommendation for buyers is to continue looking during the winter. You'll have less competition and sellers who list during winter market (November - March) are generally more motivated to sell.
